CHIANGMAI - DIAMOND COURSES

Chiangmai Highlands Chiangmai Highlands is the brainchild of Vichai Samakoses and designed by Lee Schmidt. This par-72, 7,000 yard, 18-hole masterpiece is built on a ‘power spot’ – the hermitage of Kuba Sivichai (the revered monk who founded the famous temple on Doi Suthep). Its profound tranquility, high elevation, cool climate, fresh air, pure water, and fertile soil, form the perfect place to sculpt a living golf treasure. From the inviting downhill 1st hole, the golf course effortlessly flows along, gaining strength, beauty, and character with each passing hole until its thrilling, dramatic finish on the unforgettable 18th. If you only have one day to golf in the north, play Chiangmai Highlands. This world-class resort is not to be missed

Chiangmai Alpine The old Chiang Mai Lamphun Golf Club has been reconstructed & renamed. It takes about 45 minutes to reach the golf course from the city centre of Chiang Mai by car. The 18 holes are laid out on hilly country and the exciting and challenging course is created by making best use of the natural features of the area. Players can enjoy various types of the holes with undulating fairways and greens. Sister course to Alpine in Bangkok this is a quality golfing venue Gassan Khuntan Located in the highly scenic Northern part of Thailand, Gassan Khuntan Golf Course is a new addition to golfers and their families worldwide, in offering one of the best golf courses in Thailand, if not in Asia.

Gassan Khuntan offers an 18 hole world-class course which will challenge. It has stunning views with peaceful tropical surroundings and excellent clubhouse facilities. Nearly one hour drive from Chiangmai but worth the journey

Mae Jo Designed by a well known Thai golf course architect, Mr Seni Thirawat, the course features rolling zoysia grass fairways and large challenging Korean Velvet greens with beautiful backdrop views of Doi Suthep and other surrounding mountain ranges. With thousands of matured Longan, Lychee, Mango, Pomello, and Tangerine trees alongside its fairways, the course looks and plays more like a well-matured course rather than a newly constructed one. The caddies are well trained and a round of golf at Mae Jo is highly enjoyable

Royal Chiangmai The 18 hole, par 72, Peter Thomson designed links style course opened in February 1996. The par 4, 4th ( Stroke index/ 1) is very difficult a hole, playing at 440 yards from the back tees and uphill all the way. Not a hole for the faint hearted. This hole is an exception as the key to scoring well, points more towards accuracy than length. More so, considering there are 94 well-placed bunkers to catch any stray shots. You will find many streams and lakes throughout the 18 holes but not all are in play. The course offers all levels of golfers an enjoyable round with a chance to score well

Summit Green Valley designed by Dennis Griffiths this 18 hole (Par 72) is long and there is water on virtually every hole, it opened in 1992. Always in excellent condition, the green keeping is mainly organic. A pleasure and a challenge to play, only 15 minutes from town

Lanna Golf and Sports Centre is a very popular facility with the city limits. There are 3 loops of nine holes, with part of the 3rd nine running inside Lanna Horse Racing Track, one of only 4 in Thailand. Often underestimated as a golf course due to the additional sporting activities offered Lanna is located a 5 minute drive from the city centre of Chiang Mai. The first 18 holes were developed from 1972 to 1975 and later 9 holes were added

CHIANGRAI - COURSES

Santiburi This fabulous 18 hole (Par 72) course opened in 1992, designed by Robert Trent-Jones Jnr. Stunningly well kept, Santiburi has an excellent clubhouse and facilities. Waterford Valley with 18 holes is located outside of Chiangrai. It takes about 45 minutes to reach the course by car. The 18 holes are laid out on hilly country and players have a good view of the surroundings from club house. Players can enjoy long shots on wide undulating fairways. Waterford is currently in great condition and well worth the journey, it is Thailand’s highest and well as being the northernmost course.
