GOLF COURSES IN CHIANGMAI AND CHIANGRAI

There is great golf to be played in the North of Thailand, around Chiangmai and Chiangrai there are 9 courses with more planned. Santiburi in Chiangrai is one of the top courses in Asia. The north has a cooler and less humid climate. This scenic region is steeped in history and culture, excellent restaurants and great shopping. Chiangmai is rated in the top 10 Cities in Asia to live.

       CHIANGMAI GREEN VALLEY

       ROYAL CHIANGMAI

The 18 hole, par 72, Peter Thomson designed links style course opened in February 1996. The par 4, 4th ( Stroke index/ 1) is an absolute brute of a hole, playing at 440 yards from the back tees and uphill all the way. Not a hole for the faint hearted. This hole is an exception as the key to scoring well, points more towards accuracy than length. More so, considering there is 94 well-placed bunkers to catch any stray shots. You will find many streams and lakes throughout the 18 holes but not all are in play. The course offers all levels of golfers an enjoyable round with a chance to score well.

There is a very grand Clubhouse and as the course is only around 30 minutes from Chiangmai in Saraphi it will become popular. Difficult course as all Gassan courses are but in very good condition.
